Last.FM -The Social Music Revolution.
One of my new favorites is the music oriented Last.fm website and it has that cool dot FM (Federal state of Micronesia) web address. Last fm has everything from top acts to unsigned and allows you to upload your music as an artist or a label.
Last fm has a very modern clean web 2.0 feel to its members setup and dashboard user interface. You can register for free enter in your musical preferences and be listening to some of the best streaming internet radio available. There are lots of good indie musicians making there music available through the net and I discover some excellent new artists and killer tracks every time I am on. At Last Fm you dont actually pick the songs you want to hear, you pick an artists or a musical genre and you are presented with a stream of similar music. It really opens up your music experience and the longer you listen and tag tracks the more it sets up your music profile.
You can listen to Last Fm directly from your browser, in a small pop up radio gadget or you can download the scrobbler software and it will add the music you listen to offline into your profile as well. There are forums and journals and friend playlists and a lot more I am probably forgeting so go over and check it out. I am reasonably sure you won’t be disapointed and did I mention its free.
