Puremagnetik is probably the most well known provider of third party resources for the popular Ableton Live sequencing software. They provide high quality downloads of Ableton live packs as well as NI Kontact and other sampler packs on a resonably priced subscription basis.
Their products are centered around reproducing hardware synths but cover many other forms of sampling as well. From drum kits to old analog synths and keyboard the Puremagnetik products are well designed and the highest of quality samples as well as being a very good value for the money spent.
One thing that people might not know is they also have quite a few really nice free sample packs available. The newest being a set of five Electronic kits for the Live 7 drum rack device created by New York sound designer Kamoni.

Oatmeal by Fuzzpilz is another one of the top must have vst synths that is available for free. The designer is well known for his work with the Buzz Machines sequencer and its plugins. This is no exception and is a very complete and well thought out softsynth package. Oatmeal is a two oscillator polyphonic subtractive synth with a great sound and a lot of tweakable effects.
