Mom and the ‘Guitar Hero’

This video is of Mark Goffeney, who was born without arms. The fact that he learned to cope with his condition is not in itself the story. My mother was blinded in a work related incident, but learned to use her other senses to live an almost completely normal life and even insisted upon staying in her home alone after her husband died. She cooked cleaned, knew where everything in the house was, even jogged around the park where she lived every single day until she died later of colon cancer. People tend to be much more resilient than we think. Like my mother, Mark not only overcame his handicap but has become an extremely good accomplished guitar player using only his feet and toes. Very impressive story and an encouragement to anyone coping with a handicap. I am a little jealous as he plays guitar a lot better than me. The video contains a lot more information about him and shows him playing guitar.

With it being Mothers day, I just thought this would be a good way to show a little tribute to my mother as well.
