Vibrations, is the entry by director and animator David J. Nolan to the Red Bull film contest at Filmaka. The video features the 24/7 Family breakdancers and music by Tobias Peterson (Sum-1). The audio track, I Play Music, used in the Vibrations video was produced by Tobias several years ago as PsychoSID on Acid Planet, before he switched to the Sum-1 monicker.
Ambient soundscapes and evolving textures are the theme of Togeo Studios SST GENS FP1, a free live pack for Ableton Live 7 using the simpler instrument. The pack contains 42 soundscape texture generators built on the Live 7 simpler instrument. Each generator consists of a group of 4 simplers running through a quad bandpass filter setup.
GeoSuPhat, who uses the excellent free softsynth Oatmeal from Fuzzpilz that we wrote about last week, has provided us with a bank of 64 presets. The presets were created using the randomise feature of the Oatmeal interface, to show just how versatile the generator actually is. A very high percentage of the patches created by Oatmeal were usable right out of the box.
This video show the Aurora usb midi controller, DJ mixer running on open source software. You can build the device yourself or if your not into tinkering, just buy it. The controller itself is quite nicely assembled and visually appealing with the leds pulsating from the backlighting of the device.

Mixxx is a free digital DJ mixing platform. Its open source software, a complete package with features for both amateur and profesional DJs alike. Fully featured with vinyl and MIDI control, can use multiple soundcards. The software is constantly being improved and updated. It was written by and for DJs with features constantly being improved based on users input.
Oatmeal by Fuzzpilz is another one of the top must have vst synths that is available for free. The designer is well known for his work with the Buzz Machines sequencer and its plugins. This is no exception and is a very complete and well thought out softsynth package. Oatmeal is a two oscillator polyphonic subtractive synth with a great sound and a lot of tweakable effects.

ODDyssey is the second album by Mathias Klinger and his second solo release outside of his appearances as bassman, “Der Basser” with the German rock band Cheap Thrills. Mathias experimental almost post rock approach to this album can be heard in the music of the second track “Peacemaker”.
Sum-1 AKA Tobias Petersons releases his second session mix entitled Spring Break. This release was recorded following on the heels of his birthday bash mix 060579. Spring Break is a minimal techno track aprox. 38 minutes long. This session is available as a free MP3, OGG or Torrent download.
